First, I would like to recognize 2 Cub Scouters (Ken & Michelle)from Pack 400 for attending OWL & BALOO last weekend at CDB ! Thanks for attending & Thanks to both of you for what you already do for Scouting in your pack ! Also Jill (our District Training Chair) represented our district at the Council Training meeting last Sunday at CDB...Thank You Jill ! Jill will be contacted each unit to set up individual unit training this Fall for each pack & troop ! Please Be Prepared with a date !

Scouters, please don't forget we have a Cub Scout & Boy Scout Shooting Sports Day at the Sheriff's Farm (in Marble, Hwy. 74) on Sat. Sept. 24th. There will be No Cost for this event, so urge all of your new & experienced Cub & Boy Scouts to come out and spend some time on the range with Phil & James.

Cub Scouts will shoot bb's & archery 9:00-11:30 & Boy Scouts will shoot archery & 22's from 1-3 pm. We will Not provide lunch, but we do urge Scouts to bring their water bottles.

Scouters, Please don't forget this Mon. is Labor Day, so our Nantahala Round Table will be held on Mon. Sept. 12 (5:30 pm Commissioners Meeting & 6:30 Round Table. Make sure to bring your units calendar (at least 6 months, hopefully 12 months), your Popcorn chair & your Packs Rank Round Robin Rotation schedule for Apple Tree. We have a whole to do & some very important information to review so please make sure there is a representative from your unit there (preferably your CubMaster or ScoutMaster !

Cub Parent Weekend (Oct. 8-9) at Camp Daniel Boone. Leaders, please encourage All your Cubs & Parents to attend Cub/Parent weekend. We also need some help on the shooting sports ranges, so please sign up (as a Pack) and make sure to get your registration form in by deadline (cabin usage are on a first-come-first-serve basis).

Apple Tree Camporee (& Cub Field Day) packet will be out this weekend. Packs need to help promote this Awesome event with both your seasoned Cubs & Boy Scouts & your new Scouts that will sign up this Fall ! This is an event for both Nantahala & Cataloochee Districts ! We encourage as many units to register & come out for Fun activities and a campwide service project Sat. aftrenoon !

Thanks everybody for a Great Summer ! We look forward to growing our District this Fall & we need each of you to be involved !

In closing,we have a Boy Scout from Troop #405 (Robbinsville) that is in the hospital in Asheville. Please help us keep him & his family in your Thoughts & Prayers ! We are thinking of you Gentry !
